NOTABLE MEDIEVAL CHURCH

The little village of Inglesham in the very north of Wiltshire is just off the A361 about a mile southwest of Lechlade in Gloucestershire. Blink and you might miss it! Most of the residents live in the hamlet of Upper Inglesham, but the village is on the tourist map because of its notable medieval church – the Grade I listed St John the Baptist.

This unspoilt 13th-century church was saved and restored by Victorian designer William Morris so that today we can appreciate the paintings and statuary.

Inglesham may be a little out of the way (unless you are walking the Thames Path which passes by it) – but it certainly isn’t out of OUR way.
