EICR Test Certificates Issued
The electricians at Prestige Heating & Electrical Services are qualified and approved to carry out periodic electrical inspections and testing, and issue EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Reports) to landlords and home-owners.
The EICR is a formal document, issued by qualified, experienced electricians registered with the one of the several Government backed regulatory bodies i.e. Elecsa, NICEIC, Napit etc.
Many of the domestic electrical testing reports that we carry out are on behalf of landlords, who are now legally required to prove electrical installations in the properties they let out are safe. The law states that an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) must be carried out every 5 years for all rental properties.
In fact, it’s recommended that all homes have an EICR carried out at least every 10 years. Thatched properties need testing more frequently for insurance requirements, and older properties need an EICR regularly for safety’s sake.
One of the reasons we are called in to assess the state of the electrics in a domestic property is when occupants are moving in or out. When you’re buying a new home it is wise to check whether it is electrically safe – in fact many mortgage companies and insurers now require an EICR certificate.
When it comes to landlords their rental properties have to be tested every five years because they are responsible for the safety of their tenants; faulty, old or damaged electrical installations are a serious fire hazard or pose the danger of electric shock.
Having an EICR check carried out provides peace of mind, and is important for picking up potential problems with the electrics in a home before costly faults occur, or lives and property become threatened. It’s as important as having a regular boiler or car service.
Our electricians are highly qualified to undertake your wiring and electrical projects.
