A fault identified during the service required a new part. This was communicated to me clearly and an estimate sent in quick time for the cost. The cost of the service was exactly as per the quote. Alex aways takes time to ensure my paperwork (service book) is updated, signed and dated.
The part was subsequently fitted a short while later by Alex’s colleague (sorry, can’t recall his name) in the same professional manner.

Alex Jnr did a very thorough job in checking out our central heating boiler and although there was no specific fault found, it was reassuring to know that there are no obvious fundamental faults with the boiler and it’s controls.
The boiler has functioned well since Alex’s visit so whatever was causing the problem seems to have settled down.

Here is some feedback to cover the three separate occasions that Prestige Services have carried out work for us in the last month:
Communication / contact with the office has been great – personable and professional – very quick and courteous response to our initial query, straightforward booking / arrangement of the work, which was carried out on time and in line with the quoted costs. Thoughtful communication to advise of a slight change in the expected arrival time of the engineer on the first occasion and to advise that a different engineer would be coming on the second occasion, due to injury. Easy method of payment after the work – it is great that payment can be made by credit card, rather than only by bank transfer – this is a real positive compared to the majority of similar companies / tradespeople. All paperwork, such as quotes, invoices, receipts and reports prepared professionally and sent promptly. Some companies really let themselves down by neglecting the administrative side of their work, which creates a poor impression and can be very frustrating if the client has to chase things up.
Workmanship of the engineers, Kane and Alex has been excellent – again, both very punctual, personable and professional – clear explanation of what they are going to do, and when the power will be off, all work carried out to the highest standard and left clean and tidy, any damage to walls etc made good afterwards – which again is a real positive compared to some other electricians; demonstration of everything working once the work is complete. When fault finding, clear explanation of any faults found and what the implications are, constructive discussion about proposed remedial work, including an explanation of any making good that might be required and choice of colour for visible cabling etc, as well as a thorough investigation to minimise the risk of encountering unforeseen problems and being unable to complete the work to time / budget or at all.
Covering both electrical and gas works is a huge positive as well – one of the pieces of work that Alex carried out was to remove a gas hob, cap off the gas and install an electric hob – this type of job can be difficult to arrange if trying to coordinate separate tradespeople. This is a real selling point, as for anyone who doesn’t have contacts, it can be really difficult to find one reputable tradesperson, let alone be able to coordinate more than one.
It’s worth mentioning, that it can be really difficult to find a reputable tradesperson, in any trade. If you look on a site like Checkatrade, you can probably be assured that the person is reputable, however it is extremely rare that anyone you contact actually calls you back. There is not even a holding acknowledgement that they’ve received your message and will get back to you. This is really frustrating because you end up reaching out to someone, then giving them a week or so, or whatever you think might be a reasonable time, then moving onto the next person and doing the same again, and end up getting nowhere.
I think there are lots of selling points in the way you do business and the quality of your workmanship that set you apart from the competition.

On first contacting them by phone, I was asked a few question about what was wrong with my heating system.
Guided by Leisa (who seemed very knowledgeable), I explained the problem and was told that they would come out to check my system.
Alex arrived a few days later and thoroughly investigated the problem, explained what work was needed and gave me an estimate of the cost involved – which was then confirmed via a follow-up email.

From the first phone call asking for a quote for a new boiler, my wife and I have have been extremely pleased with the service offered by Prestige. The estimator spent a lot of time with us listening to what we needed and offering good and sensible advice. The quote came quickly and when I had a number of telephone queries they were dealt with in an open and positive way.
The date of installation was agreed, and the men who came to fit the boiler and do the necessary pipework were careful and worked extremely well, in what turned out to be some of the hottest days of the hot summer. They could not have been more helpful and completed the work with no mess and on time. I found the electricians polite and efficient in what turned out to be a challenging job – 6 1/2 hours. They kept any dust to a minimum and cleared up after themselves. They listened to my needs and placed sockets where I required them. The only concern which is typical of quality trades these days was the long wait to get the job done.

I can say that I have been very pleased with the work. My initial call to you one evening regarding my ring mains not functioning was dealt with successfully over the phone so that I could go on holiday the following day without worry. The subsequent diagnostic visit was efficiently carried out and then the work to install a new box in my shed in a safer position was, as far as I can see, done well.

The new boiler seems to be doing an excellent job now. We have been really pleased with the service we have received.
