Inspection and Testing
Electrical Testing in your Royal Wootton Bassett home and why it is required.
The Consumer group Which? says on average 4 people a day are killed or injured in fires related to electrical faults. The recommendation is that every home should have a regular electrical safety test – and being experienced Royal Wootton Bassett electricians at Prestige Heating and Electrical Services we know the dangers that can be associated with dangerous electrical wiring and we fully support this recommendation.
The organisation Electrical Safety First – the leading technical authority on electrical safety in the UK – suggests that like elsewhere in the country private homeowners in Royal Wootton Bassett should get an EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) from a qualified, reputable Royal Wootton Bassett electrical firm at least every 10 years. This is vital for your own safety and also a requirement by some insurance companies who may refuse to pay out a damage claim if they were the result of neglected electrical faults. You should also arrange an EICR in Royal Wootton Bassett if you are moving home, whatever its age or condition of the property.
Royal Wootton Bassett Landlords with rental properties now have a legal obligation to have a satisfactory EICR electrical test carried out every 5 years or when there is a change of tenancy thus making sure their tenants stay safe.
